Italy is famous for its food. You don’t have to travel far to get great food while you’re staying with us because we have several nice restaurants or osteria, trattoria, ristorante, pizzeria, etc. close to our house.

Pianegiani – Todi has the best ice cream as far as we’re concerned. Also serves great coffee and little cakes and cookies. In summer time they also sell la granita, the water and syrup based ice delicacy from the south. Nice outdoor seating on a beautiful little square.

Il Bacio del Latte – Todi has the second beste ice cream, but you’ll find the difference very small. Situated on the medieval main square of Todi.
Diamond Cafe – Madonna del Piano
Very nice locally made ice cream and only 5 minutes away.

Il Grottino di Zio Totò – Monte Castello di Vibio
In Monte Castello di Vibio (3,5 km) you can eat traditional Umbrian dishes prepared by chef Massimo in ‘The cave of uncle Totò’.  Local products, informal atmosphere, great wines. Great for traditional Sunday lunch.

Colpo di Scena – Monte Castello di Vibio
The chef of Colpo di Scena serves wonderful sophisticated Italian food with his own twist. Highly recommended for those who would like to eat something out of the ordinary. Cosy dining on the the main square of the village.

Poggio Brico – Cecanibbi
Farm to table food high up on a platform under the stars with stunning views on Todi. Chef and co-owner Silvia sends numerous tasty little dishes with ingredients primarily grown on the premises up to your plate to enjoy. Seats only 8 people so you need to book a day in advance. Unfortunately not accessible for children under 14.

Enoteca Oberdan – Todi
Elsa is the owner and chef of Oberdan in Todi. High quality food, the menu is changing every week. The dishes are less traditional, but local and often organic products are used.  Elsa is also a ‘sommelier’ so try out one of the excellent Italian wines she offers. The small terrace on top of the ancient city walls offers marvellous views on our village and on the valley. Be prepared to have to wait a bit longer than usual. Please make a reservation (English spoken).

Osteria Novecento – Ilci
This Osteria  has great Umbrian food for reasonal prices. The small village Ilci is only 6 km away and Novecento offers a non-italian, modern interior in an ancient building. The food is classic Italian in a modern presentation. Also outside dining on a small terrace. Book a table if you want to be sure to have a place outside.

Osteria Il Borghetto – Deruta
Another Osteria is in Deruta: Il Borghetto. Owner Luigi is a young guy who has been cooking for years on cruiseschips all over the world. Now he’s back in Umbria with his lovely wife Maria, and making traditional Italian dishes with a modern twist. Deruta is the majolica-capital of the world and is 23 km away. Be prepared to eat a lot of delicious food.
